About SBARC

The Sierra Blanca Amateur Radio Club is an organization which actively promotes and supports amateur radio in Lincoln County, New Mexico. We are based in Ruidoso, NM, located in the south-central region of the state, yet we serve a geographic area about the size of the state of Connecticut! In addition to regular club meetings, our activities include:

• Operates and maintains an open VHF FM repeater
• Supports emergency communications needs of Lincoln County
• Runs a casual VHF net every Wednesday at 8:30 PM local time on the club repeater
• Provides communications support for local public service events
• Conducts amateur radio examinations for new hams or license upgrades
• Holds an informal club breakfast every Saturday morning starting 8:30 AM at El Paraiso restaurant, 721 Mechem Dr. Ruidoso, NM (in the Sierra Mall)

SBARC enjoys Federal income tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are further classified as a 509(a)(2) Public Charity. Contributions to SBARC are deductible under section 170 of the Code. In addition, we have been qualified by the IRS to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.
